Shopify App - How-to: Enable the App button and icons?

Our VTO App proposes two types of UI elements: a clickable icon and a button.

  • The clickable icon is meant to be used either on a collection page or on a product page (or both). If you activate it, it will be displayed in the top-right corner of the photo collection.
  • The button is meant to be used on a product page. If you activate it, it will be added to the list of CTA buttons, where the “Buy” CTA is.

Activate the elements

To activate these elements, use the “App embeds” menu in Shopify’s theme editor.
Our VTO App elements will be in the list of embeds available for your store.

In the Theme editor:

  • Toggle the elements you want to use.

  • Make sure you navigate to a default collection page or product page to see how it looks like, and adjust if needed.

Customize the elements

You can easily customize the elements. To do that, click the expand icon ▸ next to the app embed name to open its editor.

  • For the icons, you can change the text displayed (or leave it empty to have only an icon) as well as the icon.

  • For the button, you can change the text of the button.

  • You can also freely customize the CSS for both.

Checklist

  • Embeds are activated in the Theme editor
  • Embeds are visible and properly displayed in the preview of the corresponding pages (see "⋯" > "View" in the Theme editor)
